Christmas trees made from puff pastry are not only a delicious treat, but also a charming way to bring the festive spirit of the Christmas season into the kitchen

Recipe idea: Christmas trees made of puff pastryFor this you need the following ingredients:

Ingredients for 6-8 pieces: 2 rolls puff pastry from the refrigerated section, apple sauce, cinnamon, 1 egg, icing sugar for dusting, 6-8 cinnamon stars, wooden skewers

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees top and bottom heat and line a baking tray with baking paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry, spread with applesauce and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  3. Cover the applesauce layer with the second puff pastry.
  4. Then cut the dough into approx. 2 cm wide strips with a knife. Now skewer each strip onto a wooden skewer in a wavy shape, so that the dough strip becomes narrower from bottom to top and resembles a Christmas tree.
  5. Place the Christmas tree skewers on the baking tray and brush them with the beaten egg. Then bake in the oven for approx. 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Then let the Christmas trees cool thoroughly and dust with powdered sugar. Optionally, you can place a cinnamon star on the top.

    Enjoy your meal!
